A Taste Of Forgiveness: Reflection To The Story 'SINIGANG'
Sinigang is one of the staple foods that we grew up with. Aside from it is sour and savory flavor, it suits very well in cold weather and it assembles our family at home. But, there’s something more intriguing than the typical sinigang we know. There’s a well-known short story entitled ‘Sinigang’ that was written back in 2001. It was written by Aubrey J. Villaceran. It portrays Liza, the main character of the story, who faced her father’s mistress named Sylvia at the funeral of Lem, her half-brother who died because of cancer. Aunt Loleng and Liza prepared the ingredients of sinigang for their family dinner. It is her father’s favorite food. During their preparation for sinigang, she was asked by her Aunt about meeting Sylvia. She remembered how anxious she was to meet her dad’s mistress.
